But when Sawyer leaves for the summer, Ashton, the one girl Beau would move Heaven and Earth for, decides she wants to get into trouble. Stabbing the one person who’s always accepted him and stood by him in the back, is the cost of finally holding Ashton Gray in his arms. Is she worth losing his cousin over?.... Hell Yeah.

Abbi Glines is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I loved this book, The Vincent Boys was a nice lazy summer day read for me. This book made me wish I was 17 again. Ashton is a good little preacher's daughter with a perfect boyfriend in Sawyer, but she's tired of trying to be the good girl and live up to everyone else's expectations. With Sawyer away for the summer Ashton rekindles her friendship with Sawyer's cousin and her secret crush Beau. The friendship quickly turns into a full on romance since with Beau Ashton can finally let her hair down and not pretend to be so perfect all the time. The love triangle is different from most of the books I've read because there is a lot of history between all three characters and it. The triangle played out differently, it wasn't about who she wanted to be with because while Ashton loves Sawyer there is no spark there she is clearly in love with Beau. She is only reluctant to be with Beau because she doesn't want to be the reason for a rift between him and Sawyer. You really feel for Ashton with her struggle between doing what is expected of her and what she wants. She's very much at a coming of age point in her life with who she is and who she wants to be. Beau is completely swoon worthy in that sweet guy with a little bit of a bad boy kinda way. He doesn't come off as a jerk since he is very gentle and kind with Ashton, maybe a little bit of a hot head but only when defending someone he loves. You don't get to know Sawyer quite as in depth as you do Ashton and Beau, but you do learn that he is generally a nice guy who care very much for the two most important people to him, and besides that's what sequels are for. While this was a nice and easy read I do recommend it to older teens since it does have some sexual situations.
I can't wait to read The Vincent Brothers and find out more about Sawyer as soon as my self imposed book buying ban is up(it's getting a little out of hand) I'll give it another week til I crack.
