Feature & Follow Friday August 03

Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read.

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

I would say my reading habits change with my mood, but after reading a few darker themed books in a row I have to throw in a combo breaker and read something a little more light and fun.

  1. I read a lot of dark but its mixed with fun and laughter so that helps .

  2. Yes, I agree. As much as I love dystopian, I cannot read too many at one time. I have t break it with a light fantasy or teen angst romance! New follower from FF. You can find me at:

  3. I have to do that sometimes too, especially if I feel too emotional after a book.

  5. Hm... My reading habits don't really change according to my mood... but definitely if I liked the overall emotion of a book, I will try to follow it up with a similar book.

  6. For me I find my mood changes the genre that I want to read. I go through blocks where I only read one genre, then I randomly change to another one. But I don't find myself reading certain books because of the way I feel. Although I do find that the way I feel has an impact on how much I enjoy the book! So if I'm angry or sad I try and take a break from reading till I get over it :)

  7. My reading habits don't change with mood, but it seems to be that way for a lot of people. Followed.
